The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: I am still working for PA Cyber as a Title I Coach for Reading and Math, but still looking for that full time position. I am also a receptionist on Friday nights where my daughter takes dance lessons at Louise School of Dance. My daughter performed at the Irish Festival at Lincoln Park in Midland, PA in the opening act. It was a fun time with a very funny comedian. She auditioned to go to Lincoln Park next year for 8th grade. She does very well in school and in her dancing. My son, who is going to CCBC for Professional Piloting will graduate with his Associates Degree this summer. He is also in the Marine Corp. Select Reserves and works at Oxford Health Club in Wexford, PA. After I graduated from Penn State, I found a lump and it was diagnosed cancerous. So, I had a mastectomy on my left breast and the left lymph nodes were taken out as well. Two of the Lymph nodes were positive. I had reconstruction also on the left as well as two biopsies on the right side. Then, I went through six months of Chemo and have just finished 5 1/2 weeks of radiation. Now, I just have check ups and routine visits to go to. All is well now. It has been a rough year, but I have been able to still work, take care of family, bills, taxes, and everything else. I had a positive attitude through it all. Now, I am looking for a better year and new opportunities especially a full time position. |
